DESCRIPTION:Oliver de la Paz is the author of four collections of poetry\, Names Above Houses and Furious Lullaby (SIU Press 2001\, 2007)\, and Requiem for the Orchard (U. of Akron Press 2010)\, winner of the Akron Prize\; also\, Post Subject: A Fable (U. of Akron Press 2014). He co-chairs the advisory board of Kundiman\, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of Asian American Poetry and serves on the Association of Writers and Writing Programs Board. He is the music editor for At Length Magazine and he teaches in the MFA program at Western Washington University. Kay Ryan has authored many collections of poetry include most recently the 2011 Pulitzer Prize-winning The Best of It: New and Selected Poems (2010)\; The Niagara River (2005)\; Say Uncle (2000)\; Elephant Rocks (1996)\; and Flamingo Watching (1994). Her most recent book of poems\, Erratic Facts\, was published in 2015. Ryan's awards include a MacArthur "Genius" Award\; The National Humanities Medal\; the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry\, the Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize\, a Guggenheim Fellowship\, and an Ingram Merrill Award.
